Northern Clay Center's 2008 Summer Clay Camp Assistant Internships
Learn By Doing:
Spend your summer working and learning at Northern Clay Center, an internationally renowned ceramic art center. Northern Clay Center has over 40 assistant teaching positions available for high school and college ceramics enthusiasts. When:
- Dates: To take place between June 16 through August 22
- Hours: 15-20 hours per week; typically between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday
What:
- Assisting NCC's teaching artists during summer clay camps
- Preparing materials, helping with demonstrations, cleaning up, and, most importantly, working directly with kids ages 6 to 16
Who:
You Must:- Be at least 18 years old
- Have clay experience
- Have worked with kids (or at least like them)
- Have other real world experience
Rewards:
- These are volunteer internships
- If you assist with five camps, NCC will offer you a free summer or fall adult class in exchange for your efforts
- A "foot in the door" to an internationally-known ceramic art center
- Potential to teach for pay during the 2009 clay camp season
