Northern Clay Center and Cox Insurance Summer 2011 Ceramics Intern/Mentorship 
**ONLY HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS GRADUATING IN THE SPRING OF 2011 ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THESE INTERNSHIPS.

LEARN BY DOING

Spend your summer working and learning at Northern Clay Center, an internationally renowned ceramic art center. Thanks to generous support from Cox Insurance (Roseville, MN), NCC continues to offer a unique summer experience in clay for two qualified (and enthusiastic) high school graduates.

WHEN

Dates:
  • To take place between June and August 20, 2011
  • Hours: 15 – 20 hours per week for a total of 10 weeks; typically between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday

 

WHAT

Work
  • Education:    clay camp assistance and mentor to clay campers
  • Studio:          assist with firings and materials
Learn
  • Study with a professional ceramic artist and develop your own work

WHO

You must:
  • Be at least 18 years old by June 20, 2011
  • Have clay experience
  • Have worked with kids (or at least like them)
  • Have other real world experience

HOW MUCH

  • $900 honorarium for the summer ($100/week @ 9 weeks)
  • Free firing and glazes
  • 10 hours total of tutorial from a professional ceramic artist OR a free summer clay class
