Minnesota Blues
January 10 – February 15
An invitational exhibition which featured the work of 35 regional artists, all of whose work used some form of a blue glaze.
Student Bodies II
February 21 – March 21
An exhibition of work done by students of three area colleges. Work was selected by professors at each school. The participating schools included Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Bethel College, Hamline University, Iowa State University, Southern Illinois University and the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Teapots: Contemporary Views
March 27 – April 30
A traveling exhibit curated by Michael Holohan of Pro-Art in St. Louis; featured teapots (functional and non-) by 30 nationally-renowned ceramic artists. The show explored this classic ceramic form which is simultaneously one of the most basic yet difficult to produce well.
Robert Turner / Scott Chamberlain
May 8 – June 20
This exhibition featured abstract work by Robert Turner, a senior figure of American ceramics, and Scott Chamberlain, an artist who studied with Turner at Alfred University.
Studio Artists Exhibition
June 26 – August 1
Biennial juried exhibition of work by artists who rent studios from the Center; juried by Gail Kendall of the University of Nebraska.
The Edifice Complex: Structures in Clay
August 14 – September 19
This exhibition featured work of artists who use architectural forms as a point of departure, especially those who investigate the form and structure of buildings and houses. Artists included Susan Geiger, Holly Hanessian, Randy Johnston, Julia Macy, Aldo Moroni and Josie Winship.
Vintage Collections
October 2 – November 13
This was the first production ceramics show presented by NCC, saluting Hall, Fiesta and other industrial ceramic makers of the 1930s, '40s, and '50s from private collections.
1992 Holiday Exhibition and Sale
November 20 – December 23
Annual sale which featured the work of artists represented in the Sales Gallery as well as other regional artists who were invited to participate.
