Six Jerome Artists: Mary Carroll, Victoria Christen and Trish Carney, Gary Erickson, Alvin Clemente Saks, Johanna Steinrueck, Sandra Westley

January 13 – February 24

Minnesota Hot Dish

March 10 – April 28

Exhibition of 28 functional and sculptural pieces by 20 artists from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Ontario, juried by Judy Onofrio. NCC published a catalogue/cookbook of the exhibition, including song lyrics by Garrison Keillor and an essay by Karal Ann Marling about the role of the casserole in history. The exhibition and catalogue were supported with a special grant from Land O'Lakes, Inc.

The Marks of an Artist: Nancy Blum, Mary Carroll, Matthew Metz, Linda Sikora

May 12 – June 30

Four regional artists, all of whose work represents a departure from the traditional Minnesota pots. Metz and Blum both work with organic and architectural imagery imposed on their pots and sculpture. Carroll's and Sikora's work, while quite different from each other, have in common an exploration of unusual glazes, shapes and images.

NCC Faculty/Student Exhibition

July 14 – September 1

Juried show of work from faculty and students at NCC.

Majolica/Maiolica: Linda Arbuckle, Mary Jo Bole, William Brouillard, Phyllis Kloda, Farraday Newsome Sredl

September 15 – November 3

These five nationally-known artists share a use of majolica glazes, but create very different forms. The work is sculptural and functional, usually made from earthenware, and brilliantly and intensely colored with majolica glazes. The work ranged from teapots by Linda Arbuckle and Farraday Sredl to Phyllis Kloda's mounded and fanciful vegetables to Mary Jo Boles' giant foot mementio mori. Mary Jo Bole conducted a weekend workshop at NCC and a slide-lecture at Macalester College in conjunction with the exhibition.
