Peter Jadoonath maintains a studio in Shafer, Minnesota, where he makes functional stoneware pottery. His work focuses on texture, proportion, balance, and negative space. He earned a BFA from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. Jadoonath notes, “I don’t take myself too seriously, but I do take my craft seriously. Through my craft, I honor timelessness, tradition, ancestors, and predecessors. I strive for this by following my intuition, seeking self-realization, working hard, and gathering patience to take risks.” A teaching artist at NCC, he is also a past recipient of a Jerome Foundation Emerging Artist Project Grant, the Red Wing Pottery Collectors Society award, and a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.
