Romulus Craft, a studio in Washington, Vermont, is comprised of Ikuzi Teraki and Jeanne Bisson. Bisson hails from nearby Barre, Vermont, while Teraki, a Kyoto native, comes from a family of traditional kimono painters. They’ve been living and working side-by-side in the same spot for going on thirty years. Their studio focuses on thrown and handbuilt tableware and decorative art. Bisson states, “I think of creation within this vehicle called Romulus as paying homage to honorable work and I can see its beauty. It is with great pride that I dedicate myself to this continuation.” Romulus Craft has often received the Award of Excellence from the American Craft Council, most recently during the 2011 ACC show in St. Paul, Minnesota.
