NCC at NCECA
This year marks NCECA’s 50th anniversary and NCC’s 25th, so the stage is set for a can’t-miss clay conference! From March 15 – 18, the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts will present its Makers, Mentors, and Milestones Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.
During the four-day conference, NCC will show the work of local, sales gallery, grant recipient, and 2016 American Pottery Festival artists in our gallery space at the NCECA Expo. We will also represent the work of some long-time (and some recent) favorite artists who’ve left their mark at NCC.
Over 5000 ceramics lovers will visit the conference, and this satellite gallery site gives us the perfect stage to continue celebrating 25 years of relationships and artists that made NCC possible and relevant. To that end, select APF 2016 artists are each creating a 25th anniversary commemorative piece for our “25th Vases” installation. Not only will they each have several pieces available in our space to preview the upcoming APF exhibition, but the installation will also present the rare opportunity for collectors to view and purchase truly commemorative work.
This year, we will once again have a table in the Resource Hall at NCECA to promote our artist services such as grants and residencies for current students, emerging artists, and mid-career artists. In addition, we welcome Mark Pharis and David Peters, our 2016 NCECA Gallery Talk artists. If you are attending the 2016 NCECA conference, please stop by the NCC gallery and resource table to enjoy their lectures, shop for your collection, or simply learn!
