Triaxial Blend

Mar 6 to Apr 19

Opening reception: Friday, March 6, 6 - 8 pm
Curated by Angelica Pozo.

A triaxial blend is a method of testing glaze ratios to develop new surfaces. Angelica Pozo, curator of the exhibition, will parallel this concept, bringing three pairs of established ceramic sculptors together in collaboration. The artist pairs—Susan Beiner and Christine Golden, Kristen Cliffel and Angelica Pozo, and Syd Carpenter and Sana Musasama—will mine each other’s influences, studio habits, and processes to produce at least one significant work per pair, belonging to neither one nor the other. Rooted in medium specificity, the required spirit of cooperation will extend the conversation beyond self-reflection. NCC's values as an organization align with the exhibition’s celebration of the medium, its documented exchange of ideas, and its presentation of the art process as a transferable model of expansion. Triaxial Blends will create a platform for ongoing meaningful dialogue.
