Director's report: Fall 2015

Northern Clay Center turns 25 years old! Help us celebrate our quarter-century anniversary year, which runs from fall of 2015 to summer of 2016, and honor the people who have made the organization the success it is today! Help launch NCC into the next 25 years of programming, and attend one of our anniversary events and/or make a donation to support our future programming.

How do we plan to commemorate this milestone anniversary? With some fabulous celebrations, of course! Mark your calendars for three amazing gatherings:

NCC’s Holiday Open HouseSunday, November 22, 12 – 4 pm
Kick off our 25th year with a special NCC Members Preview gathering from 11 am – 12 noon! Sign up for your new membership (or renew your longstanding membership) and join us for a preview hour of specialty holiday treats and beverages and private shopping opportunities. Stick around for an afternoon of fun for the whole family. Free!

8th Annual Chili Cookoff—Saturday, February 6
Join us for NCC’s favorite winter gathering — make your own chili bowl, meet and greet our featured artists. Compete in our Chili Cook-off or vote for your favorite chili while you enjoy a beer and shop for a new chili bowl or beer stein in our gallery. $5 to eat; free to compete!

25th Anniversary Party—Saturday, June 25, 5 – 9 pm
NCC’s 2016 spring exhibition, Florilegium (originates from the Latin words flos [flower] and legere [to gather]), will serve as the perfect backdrop for our early-summer Anniversary party. Celebrate all things “25” — support ceramic artists and NCC as you bid on 25 silent auction Florilegium ceramic wares; bring 25 friends (or make 25 new ones), dress as your 25-year-old self; sample from 25 tasty libations; get through the door with a modest $25 cover.

Stay tuned for more information about these and other public events during our 25th anniversary year.

Beginning with this 2015 fall newsletter, NCC will share with you some of the faces and stories of the individuals who have made and continue to make Northern Clay Center such a special place. We’ll feature interviews with some of our staff, students, artists, board members, and supporters.

We hope to see you at NCC soon!
