Betsy Williams
Dixon, New Mexico

The focus of my work is on a sense of unobtrusiveness and quiet.  I illustrate pared down forms with lively glimpses from the world around us in a restrained color palette.

Betsy Williams and her husband, stone sculptor Mark Saxe, own Rift Gallery in Dixon, New Mexico.  Her BA was earned at St. John’s College, the "Great Books" school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Upon graduation, she worked as a money market trader at a Japanese bank in Manhattan, during which time she was introduced to ceramics. A ceramics apprenticeship in western Japan under Mr. Yutaka Ohashi (1994 –1999) prepared the way for her current work.
