Bruce Cochrane received a BFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he studied under Walter Ostrom, and an MFA in Ceramics from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred. He began teaching in 1978 at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, where he continues to teach. Cochrane has exhibited throughout Canada, the United States, and the world. His most recent solo exhibition: 30 Years Later: New Work in Clay, was at the David Kaye Gallery, Toronto, Ontario. His work is part of notable collections, such as the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in China, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Highlighting a lifetime of achievement, in 2003, Cochrane was elected to The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
