Sarah Heimann

Sarah Heimann, a previous Minneapolis resident and Northern Clay Center studio technician, received her MFA in ceramics from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, and a BA in History and Women’s Studies from Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA. Heimann maintains a studio in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and is an instructor at the New Hampshire League of Craftsmen. Her work has been published in various magazines and books, most recently Surfaces, Glazes, Firing, by Angelica Pozo. She has also received numerous awards, including an Award of Excellence at the National Teapot Show IV, Cedar Creek Gallery, Creedmoor, NC; and the Jerome Ceramic Artist Project Grant through the Northern Clay Center, amongst others. Heimann’s “image-covered pots communicate stories that derive from history or the remnants there of. An abandoned cellar and a forested stone wall — both near her studio in New Hampshire — each have an untold narrative that Heimann delicately carves into her ware.”
