In the wake of the American Pottery Festival, which brings with it packing, shipping, clean up, and notes of gratitude sent across the country, we here at NCC are still catching our collective breath and reflecting on the accomplishments of everyone who helped us pull off the most successful fundraiser to date. Here’s the highlight reel:
Sarah’s take on a single-serving German Chocolate cake…perfectly sized in a 6-inch cake pan…shown here on a Jeff Oestreich dessert plate.
My favorite holiday recipe is for German Chocolate Cake, adapted from my Grandma Betty Jo’s old recipe card, which my father has refused to give to me…so I rely on an old Xerox copy.
One of the great joys in my work as the Sales Gallery Manager is having the opportunity to get to know the great clay makers we represent in the gallery. There are several artists from outside of Minneapolis with whom I have a steady, professional relationship, but really don’t know too much about. Laurie Shaman is one such artist.
Save the date and join us for our 17th annual fundraising benefit and celebration of the art of the pot. The 2015 American Pottery Festival will take place September 11 – 13. The Festival is a three-day extravaganza that brings together collectors, local and national artists, students of all ages and interests, and clay lovers, providing all with a unique opportunity to share their love of clay. It also serves as NCC’s primary fundraiser and supports dozens of artists.
Thank you to the 2014 American Pottery Festival artists for immersing yourselves into the NCC community over our fundraiser weekend, and for sharing your expertise and techniques, your big ideas, and your great work. Thank you volunteers — for chauffeuring artists and food, sweeping the courtyard, assisting shoppers, and unpacking (and packing) pots.
